Prominent State Physician Dies

Petersburg, VA - Dr. Thomas Garrett Pretlow, 66, Chesterfield County coroner and a prominent physician in the county for many years, died in his home in Chester Sunday morning. He had been in ill health for about two months.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday in St. John's Episcopal Church, Chester with the Rev. Leigh Ribble, rector of Grace and Holy Trinity Churches, Richmond, officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond.

Dr. Pretlow graduated in medicine from University College, Richmond. In 1903, he practiced in that city until 1910 and then moved to Chester.
