Damaris Garthright was born on 30 June 1822 at Henrico County, Virginia, or 1819. She was the daughter of Carter Garthright and Elizabeth Binford Warriner.
Damaris Garthright married William Baker on 3 September 1837. She was 15 at the time. Her married name was Demaris Garthright Baker.
Damaris Garthright appeared in the 1850 census on 19 October 1850 as a household member living with Carter Garthright at Henrico County, Virginia. The official date for this census was 01 June 1850. She was listed as Lemaris Gathright, male, age 28, born in Virginia.1
Carter Garthright left a will 19 September 1856 at Henrico County, Virginia, on 19 September 1856. Mentioned in the county documents were Damaris Garthright.2 The probate document read as follows:
Damaris Garthright died on 14 March 1904 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 81 or 16 Mar 1904. She was buried after 14 March 1905 in Oakwood Cemetery, located at 3101 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond, Virginia.
